Two honest layers on real island geography: what has actually been recorded (GBIF) vs what we infer (modeled pressure). GHRI reference build · 18 Jul 2026
Read the layers differently. The GBIF layer shows observation density — where people have recorded each plant (75–85% are citizen-science sightings, so it is biased toward roads, trails and towns; it is not infestation area). The Modeled-pressure layer is an illustrative synthesis of cited figures per island — not a survey. True infested-area polygons are not publicly downloadable (they sit inside CDF's interactive geoportal).
